7'0 Ova by Ben Skinner - Thunderbolt
7' x 22 x 2 7/8 47 litres
The OVA is an easy board to ride for all abilities in all conditions, perfect for anyone stepping up from a short board or stepping down from a longboard, this is your answer!
Wide point forwards for your paddling needs, with flowing curves into a round tail. Relaxed rocker with a very unique foil, packing lots of volume with a low performance rail. A hull entry flowing into a single concave in the centre of the board with spiral V through the tail. Soft 50/50 rails flowing into a sharp tucked edge through the tail. All designed to make this board easy to paddle, fast and smooth whilst trimming with an amazing response when on your rail.
The Hull entry and soft 50/50 rails give the board the ability to easily make turns you didn't think you could make! Flow, glide, down the line speed and maybe most importantly the ability to get it turning from the middle of the board.
About Thunderbolt Technology
Thunderbolt Technology utilizes advanced materials and technology to decrease weight while enhancing performance, flex characteristics, board control, and durability.
Mass-produced epoxy boards are corky and stiff. While light and durable, they simply don’t ride well. But Thunderbolt’s hand-built boards take superior epoxy materials to an entirely different level. These boards provide the feel and sensitivity of a good poly board, but deliver performance far beyond traditional epoxy pop-out constructions. Indeed, those who ride these high-tech epoxy boards claim they actually feel better than polyurethane.
Thunderbolt boards are 100% hand layups. They begin with an EPS foam core with multi-component carbon fiber stringer systems that produce engineered flex and twist for a more lively, responsive performance. Proprietary designs employing internal carbon fiber components are then arrayed in the deck and bottom of the deck for precise flex control and strength.
The core shield PVC provides flexible protection to increase strength and durability without compromising the flex and twist characteristics built into the blank. With ample carbon fiber and fiberglass in the deck, bottom, and rails, these boards both outperform and outlast traditional PU boards and other epoxy designs.
